Crashed Like Rain (Ode To Langston Hughes) Poem by Kewayne Wadley

Crashed Like Rain (Ode To Langston Hughes)

In the times I thought of you
it fell like drops of rain
splashing against my lips covering my head,
My head became drenched
refusing the comfort of an umbrella
the thought of you poured down,
At times my eyes closed as the thought of you flowed like an river
lost in the currents of bliss as a tree branch bumps into an log floating down the stream
In the times I thought of you
I became carried away by the touch of your hand
the thought alone sent shivers down my spine as I became speechless by the sensation I've felt only in your presense,
Without safeguard from the sky
not so much as an hat
I was open to your touch
Small puddles that overflowed with threads of addiction
The sun grew jealous volunteering to rest it's head else where while the moon kissed us with it's light instead
with fingers stretched out across the ocean of your smile,
Still we loved in a single thought
forecasted into an empty sky
The trees didn't mind as they hid us from the sun
slowly casting their shadow across your skin
those high cheeks that blushed furiously with addiction that matched my own,
In the times I thought of you
It rained every day
It still continues to rain every day in your thought
as The hurricane of you sends tremers that vibrate through the quivers of my heart
with liquid pieces of you that covers every inch of me
and I love the rain
as the thought of you falls like rain
