Men saw the black smoke rising,
they could smell the burning wood;
their cottages in the valley
were crumbling where they stood.
Many lifetimes lost forever;
valued possessions all alight.
as souvenirs of days gone by
just banished overnight.
Flames engulfed the area,
firefighters were too late
to save young brothers and sisters...
death toll too dreadful to contemplate.
The cause could be the crime of Arson;
oh what evil has been done...
the gang of culprits must be found
for the safety of everyone.
