Cosmic Grand Scheme Poem by Andy Burkhart Andy

Cosmic Grand Scheme

The curtain of daylight draws shut
As night falls
Shadows dance across the darkened halls of a house silhouetted in the thin pale moonlight of twilight
And in the air there is the eerie sound of silence
Coupled with the beating of my heart
And the breathing of my overtaxed lungs
As I lie awake in bed,
Admiring the beauty of the heavens beyond,
Unimaginable beauty never dreamt of in my wildest of dreams
And all the Earth is but a piece of solar driftwood that Man has somehow inherited through the mysteries of time and space
Just a small afterthought in the grand scheme of cosmic things
