Corporate Lady Poem by Subhojit Kar

Corporate Lady

Glorious swan neck
Dance rhythm in gait
Voice dripping honey and chocolate
Eyes a heaven lake.

Office siren, computer girl
Measured tone, swashbuckling curls
Anand-Kamsky chess duel in head
With Beas-Sutlej legs.

A haughty toss of bouncy hair
A casual flick of slender wrist
And men drop dead as flies
To the left and right.

Smoky eyes sending laser beams
Through gold-rimmed designer glasses
Silicon woman, money lass
She's every career woman's dream

A dash of color on canvas grey
An oasis of subtle power play
All grace and poise and precision
Amidst a desert of callous indecision.

Note: This poem, too, is about someone I call as 'Athena', the Invincible Warrior Goddess, written almost fifteen years back- -someone I saw then almost everyday, but, haven't seen her for the last twelve years, nor could I bring myself to show her this piece then. However, I am glad that, she has fulfilled her early promise and has reached dizzying heights of success in her field.
