Corbridge Poem by Paul Reed

Corbridge

A river with no boats

Sunlight glinting and low,

Autumn tugging at our coats

And all the things we know;

Under the bridge's arch

And slowly on it's way

Time keeping a steady march

And we have no say;

With the river we see our thought

Drift away and from us sever,

The past and future clearly assort

This day cannot last forever;

But this lovely moment is ours

When our minds paused and cleared

Passed by, unnoticed, the hours

'Till the light had disappeared.
