Convinced Poem by Nika McGuin

Convinced

Rating: 4.5

Did I ever know you?
I held your hand for years
and still I wonder,
was any of it real?
and do you even feel?
I'm convinced you're someone new

Did I ever know you?
the man I loved had morals
he was a man who'd failed before
but always with honesty and integrity

who...
but who is this liar?
this deceitful stranger in my view
there's no way he could be you
just tell me it isn't true
anything to take away this blue feeling

Did I ever know you?
you swear that I did
but I'm convinced
you played me for a fool

Possessing the gift of the 'Written Word', be it poetry, prose or short/long story book writing, can say a lot about a persons character...You have that gift... I am no Seer or Mind Reader...but that all said...I enjoyed your poem, and suffice to add that based on your storyline...You deserve better...Chin-Up and keep that pen pumping, young lady ~FjR-'16~
