Connected Poem by Robert Sheridan

Connected

Connected, but seemingly unconnected
The signs of dependence & loyalty will
never vary
All sorts of serendipitous opportunities
will be delegated your way by a
computer terminal, not by some old TV
*Note: it will be interfaced to the back of
your head, make room, it's the latest fad
No more self-discipline - no more need to
sow your seeds, it'll be just like the dust
bowl during the Great Depession - 'Hey,
I was here first, move to the back of the
line! '
A thousand fibers will now connect you
with the same thoughts that will exist in
everybody else's blank mind - 'Can't wait! '
'But guess what? There is a ray of hope;
let your conscience and not some
electrodes be your guide! '
One departing thought - 'Connect & relate
the old fashioned way, through the School
of Hard Knocks.'
