Confused Poem by David Hunter

Confused

I care less about what
Crimes you thought I commit.
But I am guilty of nothing,
I am innocent to blood and bone.

The darker it gets in the winter
Leaves the people stranded and lost.
The light we rely on
Disappears along with the snow blown away.

Colder and colder
Love is now getting colder!
No warmth, no sun
Ain't none, true, ain't none!

A cup of hot chocolate cools
And is only now a bitter cold thing,
Just like your heart,
Just like my heart.

A bottle of wine is just grapes
Crushed, like a heart stepped on.
You and I are alike, no difference,
Cold-hearted people with no apologies.

The wicked and cruel,
The holy and polite,
We are just confused,
A walk down the road isn't private.
