Confession Of A Downfall Poem by Gergana Teofilova

Confession Of A Downfall

I sold myself short to the devil down there,
No matter how bad I may sound.
The face in the mirror was crazy, I swear,
I felt like crashing it down.

I thought I should live forever in vain,
The eyes of the snake were real and green,
I’d always smile when I see someone in pain,
To yield to temptation I had to be mean.

They had seen me dancing at balls,
And comforting softly ladies in need,
All I wanted was to reach slowly my goals,
Their beauty and kindness were waking my greed.

On the outside my splendor was clear,
All people loved me in order reversed,
But after midnight the masks disappeared,
Though no one would ever find out I’d been cursed.

Cause after all why do we live?
To search forever the meaning of life?
Fate is always there for us to conceive,
A plan we must either take in or play with a knife.

i like the rhyming and the flow, but have some trouble, you know, ... with interpreting all that you say. No matter! I wish you a good day. Profanisaurus aka John Westlake mentioned you today. so i came back for a look. :) bri
