Concealing The Truth Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Concealing The Truth

When is keeping a secret the right thing to do
Is it justified to omit or even tell an all out lie
Weighing the consequences and repercussions…
Keeping a secret might prevent tearful goodbyes

The pretender who lies becomes very nervous
displaying evasiveness when questioned
The person being sheltered becomes suspicious…
False responses are detected…as integrity lessens

Who can say what is the best solution when deciding...
Being carefree and naive of facts when deceived
often reverses when clarity leads to blind insanity...
Anguish can be avoided by not doing the forbidden deed
