Communication Zone Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Communication Zone

Turn it off!
The t.v., the radio.
Cellphones.
And step away.
Remove yourself.
Without deliberating to hesitate.
Or contemplate in self debate.
Do it.
Remove yourself.
From a confusing communication zone.

Rest!
Don't protest.
Give your mind time found to rest.
There is nothing you will miss.
Nonsense repeated,
Leaves less peace of mind to get.
Dismissing its priceless value.
Rest!
No one but you will know this best.
That communication zone,
'Aint' about to go nowhere.
Go back to it if you wish.
Know it not a habit.
To become addicted to it.
Rest!

Do not be made to believe,
Nonsense to volunteer receiving it...
Is beneficial to your mental health.
Providing you a weath,
Of unneeded information.
Like many these days accepting 'craze'.
Rest!
On a daily basis.
To get as much of this as you can.
That communication zone will be there.
Not to go anywhere anytime soon.
With your absence from it,
Unnoticed by those made disturbed.
Yet...
Allowing the 'affects' to be effective!

Turn it off.
The t.v., the radio.
Cellphones and 'selfies' to take.
Step away.
Without deliberating to hesitate.
Or marinate your mind in self debate.
Take time to rest and remove yourself,
From a confusing communication zone.
Know it not to go anywhere.
But your mind?
Without time to give it rest.
Will these days leave you crazed!
