Come To Me

You will find Me in the silence
I will raise you from your fear
Love to you is ever calling
Be still!
And know that I am here
I am hope for all the hopeless
Trust in Me
And you will see
Share with me each joy and sorrow
Come and rest a while with Me
Take the path that leads to freedom
Peace the world can never give
Only I can heal your yearning
Come to Me and you shall live

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This poem addresses the Real Presence of Jesus in the Blessed Eucharist or Holy Communion if you will, and the trust we should place in His love for us there. Basically, the Catholic Church, of which I am a member, teaches that Christ is really and substantially present in the Sacred Host, under the appearance of bread, that Sacred Bread which reposes in all the tabernacles of the Catholic churches of the world. The reason for this belief lies in the fact that Christ, at the Last Supper, before His crucifixion, instituted this miracle and left this same power (to consecrate) , to His apostles and their descendants (catholic priests) who continue, down to this day, to institute this miracle at every Mass celebrated throughout the world,24/7. Why, you may well ask, did Jesus do this? Quite simply, out of love for us and out of a desire to remain with us here on earth to comfort and support us on life's journey. For as He said at one time, 'I will not leave you orphans. '
A crazy belief? Not really. After all, if He was, and is, the Creator of all life, what's the 'big deal'in accepting this belief? !
