Using colors to represent aspects of love at first seems almost whimsical, like the sweet talk of lovers which isn't meant to be profound. It's just a way to be close and shut out the world. Your poem has this quality of an intimate conversation. But I was suddenly surprised by its depth of reference when you added the realities of FREEDOM and DEATH to the more familiar love talk of hugs and kisses. Only a true love can encompass so much of human experience.
