Colors Of The Rainbow Poem by Xyomara Knowles

Colors Of The Rainbow

Red, orange, yellow and blue, green, purple and indigo too. The colors of the rainbow. The colors of the rainbow. Red, orange, yellow and blue, green, purple and indigo too. The colors of the rainbow. The colors of the rainbow.

The rain makes everything dark and grey. It makes everything wet and ruins our day. But after the rain comes a shining light. It shines in the sky so very bright. The colors of the rainbow. The colors of the rainbow.

I am made through light and water. Those are my parents. They are my mother and father. If you want to see me, look down in a puddle or up in the sky. I reflect down low and I shine very high. The colors of the rainbow. The colors of the rainbow.

People are so very similar to colors. We are so beautiful on our own. But when we all come together to be as one, we create something more wonderful than anyone has ever known.

Red, orange, yellow and blue, green, purple and indigo too. The colors of the rainbow. The colors of the rainbow. Red, orange, yellow and blue, green, purple and indigo too. The colors of the rainbow. The colors of the rainbow.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Ok so I just want to preface this by saying I have always loved rainbows. Even before I knew they represented queer people. Ever since I was a toddler whenever it rained, I would look in the sky for a rainbow. The Fourth of July is my favorite holiday because of the explosion of different colors in the sky. My point is rainbows hold a very special place in my heart. So please if you don't like my song, please be mature about it and don't make fun of it. I'm pouring out my heart here. I hope you enjoy!
