Colorful Toys And The Doomsday Poem by Akhtar Jawad

Colorful Toys And The Doomsday

Rating: 5.0

I listen to the call for prayers in the mosques,
I listen to the bells of churches and temples,
In front of my eyes is an asteroid sent by my god,
So you are going to end this sinful world, oh my lord!
I am an old woman and my daughter-in-law is in the labor room,
How happy I was thinking I shall see my first ever grandchild,
I was sure he will come out of her mother's womb like a rose bud,
Pink and soft will be his skin and his cries will be low and mild.
How happy I was, soon I shall be a grandmother at an early age,
I had seen my grandchild in a an early morning sweet dream,
Sucking his right thumb in my two arms' staring at my face,
I had seen my grandchild walking with me on the bank of a stream,
I had seen my grandchild playing football with me in a green land,
O my creator, I am also a creator and so is my daughter-in-law,
What you are going to do a woman cannot do how bad may be children,
You know better, in love a woman does not have a flaw,
I had seen my grandchild going to school with a bag of books,
I had seen my grandchild on a bike driving to his college,
I had seen my grandchild with a teenager pretty classmate,
His grandmother is watching him, not in his knowledge.
I had seen my grandchild with a ring looking at one's ring fingers,
I had seen my grandchild as a groom with her beautiful bride,
I had seen my grandchild standing here where I am now,
Many more slides but I haven't seen this deadly slide,
O god, here I am to intercept the deadly asteroid,
First of kill this woman who creates but never destroys,
I had brought for my grandchild take it you may play,
If it's your play, snatch from my hands these colorful toys.
The asteroid didn't touch the earth and ran away,
I am sorry I was not capitalizing You but I do it again,
I was just informed that my grandchild has come,
Ignore, in love a woman sometimes becomes insane!

We feel the great fear and wonderful love of family vividly depicted in this beautifully crafted poem. Yes, the coming of doomsday is like a sword hanging above our head ready to strike anytime
