Color On A Canvas Poem by Jakob Joseph

Color On A Canvas

With out fail color fades from my eyes,
like wet pain being washed from a canvas,
leaving only a sketch of what once was,
a desolate skeletal image of beauty.

With out fail weight is placed on me,
like having hands and feet made of stone,
slowly sinking beneath the surface drowning in pain,
lost in thought of what could have been.

With out fail i lose my motivation,
no fuel to fire my heart,
no motivation to push on,
with nothing left to give i want to give in.

There is no choice in the matter,
there is no fighting it off,
there is only fighting through it,
and looking for the beauty past the pain.

Threw my eyes the world is black and white,
no beauty from the colors of life,
just lifeless figures going through the motions,
this is my depression.
