Cold Moon With Warm Eyes Poem by Asma Khan

Cold Moon With Warm Eyes

Don't forget someone lives for you
wearing all colors of green, gray and blue

Whilst I gazed so warmly in your deep eyes
you stirred my soul till the sunrise

The days reflect your presence somewhere else
with life, laughter and so much bliss

The nights are caught in a wonder
having you in my life was a blunder

I can hear this silence talking
when memories keep my heart's door knocking

Time invades severely my trembling eyes
each moment dropping tears off faith that dies

Cloaked with heavy weariness, I drown
accepting nature's verdict with no frown

Am I blind or just don't wish to see
in your life, there is nothing left for me

Living this disbelief is an evasion
our match was an unbalanced equation

Sleepless nights held over my vision
I have seen many stars dying in this collision

In search of you, I lost all my meaning
how it feels like to cry with, no tears, no screaming?

Every night, I watch the cold moon with warm eyes
yet your shadows shine on the bright blue skies!
