Closing The Bar Poem by Pierre Gaspaigne

Closing The Bar

Rating: 5.0

It now is almost closing time
So one more pint for me,
But first I'm going to the loo
Because I've got to pee.

The clock says midnight's coming soon
But I want one more drink.
Here in the bar it's warm and light
Outside it's cold and dark as ink.

The barkeep says, ' Now gents, it's time'.
I rush to fill my glass,
And elbow forward to the bar,
I can't let this chance pass.

I truly love the cheery glass
Of golden ale and foam.
So Barkeep, give me just one more
Before I stagger home.
