Cloaking Faces Poem by Crazy Vampire

Cloaking Faces

Rating: 5.0

People are not what they appear
Their true selves are what they fear
For if they reveal themselves they are vulnerable to being rejected
They want to be in the popular crowd, not neglected
They are covered by their hypocritical masks
Hoping that their spotlight will last

It can take them years or months to get their reputation
And in the process they go through a transformation
Where they lose who they are inside
It’s as if they have killed the person they are, they have died

And for what? To please the ones who are adored as semi gods
I’ve asked these weak people, and all they do is nod
I am disgusted by how humans can get manipulated so quick
Its like they have a remote control and all they have to do is press a button, click.

What satisfaction do you get from being exactly the same?
When you lose yourself in the ocean of similarity, it is a shame
Be proud to be different, is what I say
Don’t fall victim to their tricks of persuasion, don’t be their prey
