City In The Dark Poem by Vinod Vijayakumar

City In The Dark

When the city went sans light and sound,
I had something that I never had found.
The darkness reveals a wonderful story
that no one can beat the nature's glory.
I could hear the sound of the toad and crickets
and the rustle of leaves and the chirp of insects.
The power of the vision could best be seen
that moonlight is enough to view things so keen.
The colors of light were not in place
and the strength of the sight reached outer space.
I heard a roar of a plane till it faded
and its twinkle was only one that constantly waded.
We all got used to the noise in light,
but the silence of the dark is hard to fight.
God is great that he gives us a chance,
to take, at his creation, atleast a glance.
