Circle Poem by Alejandro Torres

Circle

Rating: 4.5

Look into the corner of my window
The history this old wood frame
Must have seen
And I wonder
If any of them have been
As hopeless as mine
Must seem now
Watch minutes tick away
With the breeze
Swept up like your hair
The last time I saw you
Even walking away
Cupid reminded me
Of just how perfect you are
And I’ve spent an eternity
Trying to find a way
To get you back
Days that seems like months
Months that have felt like years
And years that have passed
Like lifetimes
Have been nothing more
Than the minutes I’ve let slip by
Through the hands of time
Hands that have yet
To wipe away cold tears
Frozen from the breeze
That has taken your name
From my lips
And you away
From me
And has carried it all back
To eyes dusted with tears and sleep
Under the window
Again
