'Cicada...cicada!
that wonderful sound
(wonderful sound)
cicada...cicada! '

I sing to trees & bushes
& suddenly there's a hush

as the insects realise
'Hey...he's singing about us! '

And the bushes
and the trees

go wild

the cicadas riff like crazy

in my jazz symphony
for humans & insects.

'Hey! Respect man! '
the insects chant

weaving a mesh
of time & sound

here on the top
of Capri

me & the old Roman ruins
smiling

half blind
in the sun.
