Christmas Eve Poem by Brad Brandon

Christmas Eve

Today is Christmas Eve.
As you know I don't get Christmas presents
In fact the last one I can remember was from you.
It's a teddy bear that sits on my nightstand
Either way
I don't really want anything for Christmas
If I could have something
I would have you
Not just as my own
But free
Happy
Having a life where you can do what you want
You can be where you want
You can have anything you want
Talk to anyone you want
Without fear of 'momma'
Seeing you're talking to someone
Cutting off your communications
Corrupting you
Using you
Instilling fear
So of all the things I want for Christmas
I just want you
