Choosing A Job Poem by Daya Nandan

Choosing A Job

There comes a time where one has to work,
Be it an engineer, lawyer or even a clerk,
The transition from a student life to a working life,
Pressures from a new world that can stab like a knife,

The key to survival is choosing an education,
For that sets the path for a career's foundation,
Choose what you want don't be forced by others,
Never a forced choice made by fathers and mothers,

If you do what you love and you will love what you do,
The ultimate job advice both so accurate and true,
Weigh your choices well, do research before you choose,
For there are so many choices under the sky so blue,

Pick the field that you are the most passionate about,
That sparks flame within your soul, let there be no doubt,
Don't waste years of your life working a job that you hate,
Don't live in regret and blame it on fate.
