Choices Poem by Lora Colon

Choices

Rating: 5.0

If I were told blackened clouds would gather,
And never again would the sun warm my face
Unless I renounced your love, I would rather
Live in darkness, warmly locked in your embrace

If no songbirds were allowed to proclaim
Morning's rebirth, how greatly that would pain me;
Let them be still! but never would I disclaim
The constant need for your love to sustain me

If Heaven's rafters shook 'til stars rained down,
I'd catch the brightest star, and never free it;
And should God demand its return, I'd not frown,
If I could trade it for you love, so be it

Gladly would I barter Heaven's rare jewels -
The sun, the moon and every quivering star;
Though I may have reserved my place among fools,
I would chance Heaven's wrath to be where you are

If I could choose Earth, or angels' domain,
Perhaps my answer would amaze and astound:
Wherever you are dwelling I must remain -
Only in your love can my Heaven be found

What a beautiful poem! ! Yes, love is most precious and we can't trade it for anything else. Full vote from me.
