Childhood Memoirs..Of Christmas Past Poem by Nnawihe Ephraim

Childhood Memoirs..Of Christmas Past

I thought about my childhood
And its memories i hold so dear
I remembered my neighborhood
The grass..and grasshoppers there

If i could bring back my childhood
And the loved ones who but now are gone
Oh what life that's filled with all things good
And people that made it fun

I remember fondly..my father
And those lovely friends back then
Who made life lovely and better
We even ventured to lion's den

If i can go into the land of the dead
And bring those beautiful souls back
If they could see tears shed on my bed
They will know that ''something'' i lack

I remember the music..the song, the..dance
The breeze..wind of harmattan
I wonder if they feel it there per chance
And taking with them my Christmas town

it's a beautiful poem, every soul shall have the taste of death, this is the law of this world, yet we become nostalgic for some time and we long to get back these souls who are no more in this lovely world, well-composed poem, if you find time please read some of my poems and leave your comments. thanks for sharing,
