Child Labor Poem by Ima Ryma

Child Labor

Papa Rooster and Mama Hen
Did say that they both thought it best
That I, their chick, leave the playpen
And go to work, leaving the nest,
To help support the family,
Too many mouths to feed did hatch.
Mama and Papa needed me
To go work and bring in more scratch.
I was happy to do my part,
Did job search on the Internet,
Found position, ready to start.
For the challenge I am all set.

So off to my new job, first day,
Manager at a Chick-fil-A.
