Child Abuse Poem by Thelma Murphy

Child Abuse

Please dear child do not cry, for your pain is running deep.
Your parents do not understand the hurt they have caused.

You try so hard to please but failed.
You blame yourself of the failure.
It is not you who has failed but your parents.

Their expectations are beyond the norm for a child like you.
For they have not exceeded their expectations
and place the blame on you.
