Child Poem by Singleton M. Tate

Child

The child in me,
Is sleeping peacefully,
Not worried about life,
Shielded from any strife.

The child in me,
Is learning everyday,
How to keep evil away,
I must never forget to pray.

The child in me,
Wants to make friends,
Lend a helping hand,
To anyone I can.

The child in me,
Will grow up strong.
Will live very long.
Will be... until I'm gone.
