Checkup - Lincoln Park Zoo Poem by Ima Ryma

It's not something I like to do,
But medical checkup is part
Of the deal at Lincoln Park Zoo,
Where humans have a caring heart.
Not a good patient when awake,
The docs want me asleep no doubt.
Before exam, for safety sake,
I get a shot to put me out.
All kinds of tests are done on me.
Preventive care, it's called I guess,
The latest med technology,
Including a CT scan - yes!

Taken back to my habitat,
This cougar - one healthy big cat.
