Chastity Poem by sal carter

Chastity

Sits
Grasping his clammy knees
Eyes clenched shut-sewn lashes
Head locked between both legs
While around him Salome dances
Long veils trailing
Like crack smoke in the air
Hair dropping down her back
As Medusa tamed.
Liquid gold curtains float above his head
Etherealy tempting-taunting
Unbittered bright flames
Spill carelessly from
Scattered urns.
Disjointyed voices whisper enticements
Of Pandora
Beckoning on in split words.
From lions raws
Beating echoes of will to power
To the taste of sacred fruit
Lingering on snakes tongues
An alladins cave of pleasures and pain
Venus in furs reclining in the mist.

Chastity dies
Coughing
On the ashy floor
Cursed by the cries of a thousand foetal lives
Haunted by the ghosts of purity and faith
A withered virgin
In a grey goats hair wig
