Changed
Value has changed.
Integrity is gone.
What was once our proud country.
Is now weak where it was strong.
This is time of war.
Peace is no longer.
The people want no more.
But our leader is stronger.
The rich live with hope,
While the poor reap what “they” sow.
We sacrifice for no one,
Pretending we don’t know.
But we continue to bear it,
Because it’s all we can do.
We pray a fitting leader,
Will someday come through.
This is a great poem inspite of its slight imperfections. The previous comment does not do justice. The poet expresses what is inside her heart as compared to so many who listen to the National Enquirer. Thank you for posting this. H

Hi! I agree we do need a stronger leader for this nation, but we are not the only ones that need a stronger leader there are other nations that need a stronger leader. I read somewere that 'There is more to being a king then having a crown.' I belive this is true of leaders. Leaders need all the virtues that are in the world and need to know were thay stand and stay there and not change their morals for any thing. I love this poem! !
