Change Poem by Dustin Dawin

Change

Has the white picket fence been replaced by Bob wire
drink and be gay no longer has the same meaning as it did fifty or so years ago
whatever happened to the snow banks
they were tall and we played all winter long sliding down And about
but now sometimes it's 70 or above in December or January
and on the other hand where cities once were very warm Can now have Record low temperatures
children no longer play hide and seek
let's face it
a child Can't be left alone long enough to count to 10
Remember when they said Never talk to strangers
now strangers can be lurking in the home
in the bedroom
as they lurking on the telephone or tablet
What's real what fake?
can we trust our politicians our leaders
when one says it's White and the other says is black
have we changed in time
or has time changed us
