Change Poem by Carmen Cilla Cook

Change

So many years have passed us by
Since that sad day we said goodbye
To reunite upon this night
Would feel so good just not to fight
For sure you’ve changed you told me so
If we just talk that’s how I’ll know
Do leopards really change their spots?
Is it simply a game of joint the dots?
And then you’ll see the brand new me
Is this how simple it could be?
This new you I’m now talking to
Feels almost like it isn’t true
Then slowly as time passes by
You show again the reasons why
We left our past
We would not last
For you are YOU and I am ME
And that’s the way it will always be! !

Great lines well put together and the message is clear.
