Change Poem by Prince Ifeoluwa Daniel ShanuOlu

Change

His rulership over three fuels furore and pandemonium across his kingdom
A fragment of him sings praises
A gaze at the scenario left me with a jaundiced eye
Based on ethnicity and religiosity
Change! Change! ! Change! ! !
A throng shouted
We beg of you
Come to our aid and save our land from dehumanization, poverty and regimentation,
rescue us from parochialism, dogmatism, corruption and slavery
For this somatic sensation of acute discomfort is beyond our ability to carry
Where is he that can u-turn the tide?
Certainly, not this change bearer.
