Chances Poem by David Harris

Chances

Rating: 5.0

Everyday we take chances
in everything we do,
but the biggest chance we take
is when we fall in love.
Will it last one day or forever
is the question you always ask yourself.
You hope for the latter,
though that not always happens I’m afraid.
Just look at the broken hearts
that litter the lonely streets.
However when the chance for happiness comes along.
We have to take it,
as it might just be the right one.

Life is taking chances, but some times it goes so wrong that people are afraid to open their hearts again...

Nice write, but for what it's worth 'the right ones' as you put it, are 'already spoken for.' And, that would be why they were 'the right ones'....That is, over age forty to about fifty five or so.....I love this write but for some, too many wrong chance make it difficult to wish to try another...Shouldn't be lonely though, for, at least we have ourselves to care for. I think that even at people's happiest moments there can always be a touch of sadness or longing. It's just human nature, imoh-love, marci.xo~~~
