Celibacy Poem by Kenneth Umunna

Celibacy

Never seen so pure a virtue
Not many may dare to pursue
That one may be without a she
Is such a wow to me

That we may ponder on its ease
In truth the will-power we must squeeze
To free our will from ecstasy
And ban our thoughts from heresy

To God alone their vows must be
To keep away from worldly spree
In history too their page we’ll read
To newer ones their faith a seed

We pray for them and all their needs
Their virtues too be safe from weeds
In thorns we hope their roses bloom
And on their faces no show of gloom
