Celebration? Poem by K.. K..

Celebration?

What is there to celebrate
freedoms are washed away
draining into the garbage compactor
never to be reclaimed
though we live as if
we have the world
under our feet
and we hold our heads high
proclaiming we are free
don't you want to be
just like me?
Putin said it best:
'We certainly would not want to have the same
kind of democracy as they have in Iraq, I will tell you quite honestly.'
Freedom is just a thought
no longer in the minds
it is just a conversation piece
that is batted around
from point to point
never having a home
even those who say
they are free don't realize
a nice warn blanket
in the guise
of monetary gain
and security
has been pulled over their eyes
Celebration?
I will hold my head down
and shed a tear for every freedom lost
for our comfort
and greed
