Were you caught in the flight before the fall
taking in all its beauty
were you stuck in the realization before the crash
too late to remember what can't be changed
did you give love before the painful blow
did you give the speech before the hit
of what was truly intened
does life's ocean waves blow to bury deep in sand
making friends with sea shells
floating along the currents of the shadowed hills
this would have never died
if fickled flaunts caught ablaze
and you became a stanger to me then
'You know the words but they mean nothing'
