Cancer Poem by Nellekke Tak

Cancer

Comforting lack of breath
Inhale yourself looking for a soul
Viewing a reflected self portrait

Mirror perfect screaming at a turned back
Resplendent young cancerous stars
Burning though precious veins
Again in this beginning, things fall apart
Tender innocents pained as years trace
Nicotine love to the clouds, bright future
Why didn't if rain that night?

Begging out a running window
Trapped again where things fall apart
Cancer filled moon shines
Bright, meaningless words
For once, hear this.
