Catch The Boat Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Catch The Boat

Some frequent church with pious smiles
They neither steal nor cheat
Obliging walking extra miles
Helping at Jesus feet

They pay their tithes each worldly due
Walk with countenance fair
They seldom fail from work or pew
Like Christians everywhere

Hearing of God and Christ His Son
Of others falling short
They hope to see life’s victory won
Fearing hell’s report

They see the world and those within
Their neighbours far and near
Living in shame walking in sin
Without a Godly fear

For these, as taught they’ll kneel and pray
Monetary gifts they’ll share
Standing watching thriving each day
To die in deep despair

“There’s just one way to conquer hell
To climb God’s sacred mount
One way to live, do all things well
And dread no last account

Love is from God a living seed
A grape for Heaven’s wine
Growing to help growing to feed
Growing to life divine

The boat that sails to Heaven’s shore
The force to turn life’s tide
The key to love forever more
God’s planted deep inside”
