Cast Adrift Poem by David Harris

Cast Adrift

Rating: 5.0

Within the heartfelt sadness,
my ship sails across a barren sea
towards no island of love for me.
Cast adrift to an empty place
where the broken-hearted go
on a sea made of tears
where no one wants to go.

My days are spent in remorse
for things said and done.
Thinking back I realise
I should have done something
before the worst begun.
Now I am cast adrift to an empty place
where the broken-hearted go.

Once I sailed among the stars
on loves golden wings,
felt the sun smile on my face,
touching heaven with my fingertips
before my world caved in.
You left me for another
and cast me adrift to an empty place
where the broken-hearted go.
