Casey, Just One Chance Poem by jess schwarcz

Casey, Just One Chance

I’ve fallen for many guys,
All musicians, tell me why?
My heart falls over,
When I always met their eyes,
But I looked away and thought better.
My heart falls over,
The times our eyes meet.
And I never recover.
Damn, I will never recover.

I’ve tripped over many of their cases,
But I stand up straight,
And the heartbeat was never late.
Just one slip,
I’ve just never recovered,
From that old, damn sax case.

But you said no,
Friends is all we’ll be.
But one day,
One day you said,
I’d just might get lucky.

I dreamt of you yesterday,
Those other girls you were with.
I was far away,
Yelling, trying to tell you-
But you walked away,
Just walked away.
And I’m afraid now,
My dreams are coming true.

Do you know me now?
Or remember then?
Have you seen the smiles of my life?
Or remember none-from back then.
You say no now,
Spend time with me,
And try to say no then.

Mallory and I,
We’re waiting for you to come back.
To wave the white flag,
To throw in the blood stained sack.
I can live with friends,
Just give me a chance.
Damn it, just one chance.

Do you know me now?
Or remember then?
Have you seen the smiles of my life?
Or remember non-from back then.
You say no now,
Spend time with me,
And try to say no then.
