Carousel And Ferris Lights Poem by Janine Alyssa Navarro

Carousel And Ferris Lights

back when I thought
the world was just dark,
all I know of were
forgotten swings and
misplaced kings, who
broke hearts that
cried every night

since you came into
the picture that broke me
all I can see now are
carousel and ferris lights;
you lit me up…
you, with cheeks of donut,
gave me a warm, selfish smile
