Canticle 1 Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

Canticle 1

through
the
ways
falling
falling
through
the
clouds
whistling
around
around me
mists
mists
mists!

the night is crawling
new-born
every day at dusk!

feret meri
terint seri
goret feri
silis deri
con bateri
canti meri
bront deri
opit speri
dlont kleri
pist veri

smell the night roses
for free!

the Pharoah's body
embalmed - for free!

see the sylphs with wings
trembling faster
than the humming bird's...

feret meri
terint seri
goret feri
silis deri
con bateri
canti meri
bront deri
opit speri
dlont kleri
pist veri

let the world be a fair
it is not very far
not much to change
not many toiletries

the night I sleep
I dream

the morn I wake to day
of horror

the dusk is pining
fading sorrow

Come, come, Inner Soul
register all this
for beauty at the fair
tomorrow.
