Callaheenacaddig (Old Woman Of The Shore) Poem by Chris Lane

Callaheenacaddig (Old Woman Of The Shore)

Callaheenacaddig
Druidical by the sea
Member of the life-in-death
Mystery is she.

Risen from dawns misty morn
She became mythology.
Stands undisturbed,
Near the shore of Owenainche.

Bohonaghs stone circle
Like a son, lays beyond her,
Knocknageehys
Dolmen, her sister.

Memories remain
Held in winter rains
When they roll back
From whence they came.

Then a solas ribbon,
A yearly reminder.
As the light shines
To the contents enshrined.

Not all is forgotten
In assimilation begotten
An Owen flows, Gaoth blows
Where the edge of the Ocean rolls

(Calac.)
