Call It What You Like Poem by Brandon Antonio Smith

Call It What You Like

The getaway is close to our eyes,
Can't you escape with me?
You're not obliged to.
It's true that a wrong is committed at least once in life.
Knowledge is the result of multiple mistakes.
I long to know what exactly motivates your fate.

Join me this way,
I would appreciate it if you did.
Alone would mean hardship.

Wear me daily like your favorite brand,
Don't complain of the imperfections.
Believe me, I notice them too.

Explain to me the unexplained,
Answers are what we all want.
Some answers are more apparent than others.
In order to find the less obvious ones,
It's necessary to dig up ditches.
