Call His Name Poem by Ray Hansell

Call His Name

All those years of smoking
Have finally caught up to you
The position that you're in right now
There's nothing anyone can do

The cancer has spread all over
The more the doctors look, the more they find
The only thing they know for sure
Is that the ending will not be kind

You know no one else is to blame
This all falls on you
Because smoking those cigarettes
Was something you wanted to do

Looking back now with regret
Doesn't do anything at all
I think this might be the time
To put your hands together and give Him a call

He may not be able to save you now
Perhaps he can ease the pain
Just close your eyes and call to Him
He hears all who call His name
