Calculation Of Gold Poem by Eli Spivakovsky

Calculation Of Gold

Rating: 5.0

1.

*** There is 0.2mg of gold in the human body ***

Blushing cells of scarlet reefs, currents of little red torches tumbling through the blood-breeze
The Veins ask, 'Where are you? ' 'The Arteries answer, 'I'm coming now.'
A secret trace of gold whispers, 'I'm hiding.'
Your wrist-bloods are the shape of a lightning strike
Your wrist-bloods are the shape of mining tunnels
dusting the cells with gilded breath
softly ripples an auric vessel
peeling a raft
preparing a parade.

2.

***Did you know an Earthquake can turn water into gold? ***

Out of nowhere
A bell appears
many
at the same time
floating to the top
a flotsam of ore
bells made of ingots of gold
Finally exposed to the atmosphere: it shines
Bargain of civilisation ringing in its gaping mouth

3.

*** And there is 13 billionths of a gram for every 1 Litre of ocean ***

Water is as wet as memory
We let the tide push up against our ribs, our lungs
Almost weightless and something pulses to the shift
'There's 20 million tons of it, if only I could distill it,
I'd be a rich man.' you say
I thought you were talking about a weight inside your heart
not buried as such, but melting in infinity
not the ocean' s 20 million tons of gold
But limitlessness,
a blister in each mouthful - intangible
'It's right here, you've already found it' I say
I meant myself, of course - refreshed from the unseen
I showed you a cupped handful raised above the meniscus
the light catches it and
disguised with salt
a dissolved glitter
rested itself around us in the waves.

4.

*** So when a person goes swimming in the Ocean, for every 100 Litres of water, there is.0002013 grams of Gold present ***

osmosis of drowning and floating
covered blood tunnels
identifying its own source
invisible material
calling to us inside the cell-palace,
like the concealed ocean
summoning us.
between septum and scepters of sparkle,
sliver of civilisation,
hunted chemical,
It washes over us, inside of us:
Anointing a sphere of kings.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

What is the reality of gold? why do people sway when the word ‘gold' is waved? What use is it of?
