Caged Poem by Sorin Popescu

Caged

Random words, dont mean a thing.
Crafted words, are a lie.
Can you feel them sting?
In silence the mind can fly.

Always in pain, always in doubt.
Running away, when the going gets tough.
Slowly but surely, forgetting what he was about.
Now even speaking, seems to be rough.

Trying to belong, chaining the mind.
Thoughts wide open, he can not rewind.
Trying to cut it out, day and night.
To blind to see that it is shining bright.

The spirit lies, in shackles and chains
In the mind, with acid it rains.
Now it is numb, but once it swiftly flew.
Each ideea, killed before it had a chance to brew.

Reaching out, reaching towards the light.
With one thought, the chains are behind.
All this time, there was no need to fight.
All this time, the seer was blind.
